Privacy Policy
Snapceipt stores sensitive financial records. We collect only what is needed to provide the service, restrict access to your account, and give you a way to delete your data.
Information we collect
We collect account details such as your email address and authentication identifiers; profile preferences such as country, currency, and distance unit; receipt data and images you choose to upload; mileage records; exports you request; subscription status; and limited diagnostics and product analytics.
How we use information
We use this information to authenticate you, sync and back up your records, calculate totals, generate exports, provide support, prevent abuse, maintain security, and improve reliability. Snapceipt provides bookkeeping convenience and does not use your records to provide tax advice.
AI receipt extraction
If you choose AI extraction, the receipt image and an extraction prompt are sent directly from your device to Google's Gemini API through Firebase AI Logic for text extraction, guarded by Firebase App Check. The result is returned for your confirmation before it becomes a receipt record. Processing and retention details are disclosed in the app before you use this feature. Manual entry remains available without AI extraction.
Storage and security
Account data is stored using Google Firebase services, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions. Access rules restrict receipt records and images to the signed-in owner. Administrative operations use server-side credentials and role checks. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers only as needed to operate Snapceipt, comply with law, protect users, or complete a transaction you request. You can request our current subprocessors list at privacy@snapceipt.app.
Retention and deletion
We keep your records while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request account deletion from the app or by emailing privacy@snapceipt.app. Deletion removes the Firebase Authentication account, Firestore records, and files associated with the account, subject to short-lived backups, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
Your choices
You can review and correct receipt data, avoid optional AI extraction, export eligible records, and request access, correction, or deletion. Local law may provide additional rights.
Children
Snapceipt is not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in their jurisdiction.
Changes and contact
We will post material changes here and update the date above. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to privacy@snapceipt.app.
